Homemade Sweet Chilli Sauce Recipe

We love a good sweet chilli sauce! I mean, who doesn't?! Here's a little recipe we've put together to create your own sweet, sweet chilli sauce😍

Makes ½ cup

Prep Time: 5 mins or less

Cook Time: 15 mins

Lasts for up to two weeks in the fridge!

Ingredients:

½ Dried Ring of Fire Chilli

½ cup of rice vinegar

3 tbsp. of fish sauce

2 tbsp. of sherry

½ cup of white sugar

¼ cup of water

3 garlic cloves

1 ½ tbsp. of cornstarch

Method:

  1. Prepare the ingredients by crushing the chilli pepper, mincing the garlic cloves and adding the cornstarch to 3-4 tbsp. of cool water and allow it to dissolve.
  2. Combine all ingredients except the cornstarch mixture to a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce to a medium heat and continue to boil for 10 minutes before further reducing the heat and adding the cornstarch mixture. Stir well.
  3. After another 5 minutes, or once the sauce has thickened, remove the pan from the heat and give it a taste! If you want a spicier sauce, you can add the other half of the dried chilli pepper. If it tastes good, you can pour the sauce into a jar to keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
  4. Enjoy this recipe as a delicious dipping sauce or drizzle!
