Cinco de Mayo!!🎉🎉 This tasty taco recipe will get your taste buds moving!
Â
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10-20 mins
Â
Ingredients;
1 tbsp. Adam’s Original Chilli Infused Organic Olive Oil
500g of 20% fat minced beef (fatty mince adds extra flavour, but you can swap this out for a leaner mince for a healthier version)
2 white onions, minced
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
1 tin of kidney beans
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. crushed black pepper
1 tsp. cumin
½ tsp. dried oregano
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 tbsp. of Adam’s Original Spice Mix
10 tortillas (have a bit of regular cooking oil available for coating)
Â
Classic Toppings;
Grated cheese
Chopped tomatoes
Adam’s Original Pickled Jalapenos
Sour cream
Guacamole
Salsa
Shredded lettuce
Avocado, sliced or chopped
Sweetcorn
Shredded red cabbage
Sliced red onion
Lemon slices, for squeezing
Â
Method;
- Start by heating the oil in a large frying pan and adding the beef mince to brown. Add the onions, garlic and all spices and herbs to the pan and cook for roughly 3-5 minutes. Pour in the canned tomatoes and kidney beans and allow this to simmer until bubbling for 5-10 minutes.
- You can easily skip this step and the next by buying pre-made taco shells at the supermarket, but if you want to learn how to make your own, keep reading! You will need to ensure your oven trays are clean before you begin. Start by wrapping your tortillas in a cloth that is very slightly damp, or in paper towel. Microwave on high for 30 seconds to steam.
- Once steamed, lay on a flat surface and coat both sides of each tortilla in cooking oil, which will help get the crispiness we want. Carefully drape the tortillas over two bars of the oven rack and bake at 190C for up to 10 minutes until crispy.
- Once these are done, you will have your taco shells and taco meat ready to serve! The best way to serve tacos is buffet-style, so why not separate your toppings into bowls and allow your guests to add their own? This is fun, easy and really adds something special to your Cinco de Mayo party. Enjoy!
